On January 17, 2019, in Surrey, B.C., Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced a significant funding boost of $798,806 to Options Community Services Society. Addressing the Needs of Vulnerable Populations
Options Community Services Society is collaborating with InWithForward to reach out to newcomer seniors and those with disabilities. Key Details About the Funding
The SDI funding, part of the Settlement Program, totals nearly $150 million over five years. It was established through the 2017 Immigration Levels Plan to test innovative methods for improving program efficiency.
Through the first Expression of Interest in 2017, IRCC is now supporting over 100 projects nationwide, all set to be completed by March 31, 2021.
The SDI consists of seven funding streams: language acquisition, employment, youth support, volunteer harnessing, sector capacity building, pay for performance, newcomer well-being, and research and analysis.
