Visa-Free Travel to Canada Now Available for 13 More Countries
From: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
New Developments in Canadian Visa Policy
Canada continues to be a preferred destination for visitors, business travelers, and those visiting family. To enhance the experience, Canada is streamlining its immigration processes. As part of this initiative, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced the inclusion of 13 new countries in the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) program. Eligible travelers from these countries can now opt for an eTA instead of a visa when flying to Canada.
Countries Benefiting from the New Policy
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Argentina
- Costa Rica
- Morocco
- Panama
- Philippines
- St. Kitts and Nevis
- St. Lucia
- St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- Seychelles
- Thailand
- Trinidad and Tobago
- Uruguay
This visa-free air travel initiative simplifies and speeds up the process, making travel to Canada cheaper and more accessible. It is expected to boost tourism and business by fostering stronger ties with these nations while ensuring the safety of Canadians.
Enhanced Efficiency in Visa Processing
The initiative will significantly reduce the number of visa applications, allowing for quicker processing times for all applicants. Travelers already holding a valid visa can still use it for entry. However, those not eligible for an eTA or traveling by land or sea will require a visitor visa. For more details on eTA eligibility and applications, visit Canada.ca/eTA.
