Key Targets and Commitments
Under this Levels Plan, Canada will maintain its 2024 target of 485,000 permanent residents, progressing to 500,000 in 2025. By 2026, the goal is to stabilize this number, ensuring ample time for successful integration and labor market enhancement. The government will also adjust temporary resident admissions to ensure sustainability.
Collaboration with provinces, territories, employers, stakeholders, and Indigenous groups will continue, adapting to immigration-driven population realities. Guided by the An Immigration System for Canada’s Future, these efforts will strengthen the immigration framework, ensuring newcomers have the resources needed for success, including settlement support and housing access.
