Canada’s Initiative to Support Peel’s Housing Needs

August 23, 2019 – Ottawa – The Canadian government has allocated $2.2 million to Peel Region to tackle the challenges of offering temporary housing to asylum seekers over the past two years.

This initiative underlines Canada’s commitment to organized migration, ensuring provinces and municipalities can manage the demands of temporary housing for asylum seekers.

These funds will empower Peel to maintain effective interim housing solutions while working with various government levels toward sustainable, long-term strategies.
