Their 90-day training program, ‘Ease into Canada,’ aids employees in adapting by offering both business skills and language training. Additionally, Danby hosts conversation circles and collaborates with the Guelph Wellington Local Immigration Partnership for cultural events highlighting the newcomer experience.
These awards by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) celebrate the innovative strategies of local businesses in integrating newcomers into the Canadian workforce, helping them overcome employment barriers.
The winners were announced at the 2018 Employer Council of Champions Summit, organized by Hire Immigrants Ottawa, which convened leaders from various sectors to discuss effective refugee and immigrant workforce integration.
