From: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The governments of Canada and the United Kingdom have taken a significant step to enhance work opportunities for their youth. This initiative aims to help young Canadians and Brits reach their full potential by working abroad.<\/p>\n On July 14, 2023, in Wallace, Nova Scotia, the Honourable Sean Fraser, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, alongside the Right Honourable Robert Jenrick, UK Minister of State for Immigration, announced a new Canada\u2013United Kingdom Youth Mobility Arrangement. This agreement, signed with British High Commissioner to Canada, Her Excellency Susannah Goshko, offers extended and improved work experiences.<\/p>\n Under this new arrangement, Canadian and British youth can enjoy extended work opportunities through International Experience Canada<\/a> (IEC) and the UK’s Youth Mobility Scheme<\/a>. The program builds on a partnership that began in 2008 and introduces several improvements:<\/p>\n Youth mobility across borders allows young individuals to immerse themselves in new cultures, languages, and societies, developing essential life skills and enhancing their future job prospects. The new arrangement is expected to be implemented in 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cThe UK is one of the most popular countries for Canadian youth working and travelling abroad. Canada is equally a top destination for UK youth participating in IEC. This new arrangement makes it more accessible for Canadian and British youth to work and travel in each other\u2019s country, while enjoying the benefits of international youth mobility.
