In pursuit of this, Canada aims to enhance its efforts to welcome more Francophone immigrants.<\/p>\n On November 8, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced funding of nearly $85,000 for the Universit\u00e9 de l\u2019Ontario fran\u00e7ais. This funding supports the development of the Observatoire en immigration francophone au<\/span> Canada, unveiled at the Centre francophone du Grand Toronto.<\/p>\n The investment will establish an oversight committee comprising university and community representatives. This committee will guide the observatory’s mission, objectives, and governance. The initiative addresses the research concerns related to Francophone immigration.<\/p>\n With enhanced insights into Francophone immigration, the Canadian government can better target its initiatives in this area. Part of the funding will be used for a survey to identify Francophone immigration research needs, ensuring the observatory’s research plan aligns with these priorities.<\/p>\n French-speaking immigrants enrich Canada’s cultural and linguistic landscape while bolstering local economies.
